Reflecting...
November 7, 2016
A long weekend gave me time to stop and reflect on my teaching career so far. I can't believe how many resources I have created/ purchased/ thrown out/ lost over the years. When teachers first start they seem to be clutching at anything and everything they can get their hands on... then there comes the time when they have so much "stuff" but can't bring themselves to throw any of it out! I had a bonfire once, I must admit. I moved house and just had so many boxes of games and activities that I hadn't used in a long time. Now I kinda wish I hadn't but at the time I just didn't have the space for it all.Â
Today I found some games that I had used for a particular school and it brought back happy memories. It was a hiragana game I made for my students in Grades 1 & 2. I printed out the hiragana table with blank spaces and then cut out all of the characters. Students placed the characters in the correct box. They had a lot of fun with this task!
Winding up towards the end of the year is exciting and daunting. I am not sure what next year will bring so I am enjoying the warmer weather and all of the interruptions that Term 4 brings!

Here are some key resources that will help you with your planning.
